Overall, I did like this book, especially as a fan of Elliot Page. I just wish the writing had been as strong thought the book as it was at the end.

The writing itself was heartfelt and raw throughout. However, I did feel it was not as strong at the beginning than at the end. At times I also struggled with the nonlinear timeline but this is likely a personal preference.

I wanted to like it, but I couldn't.

I connected with the chapters that focused on his relationship with his dad and stepmother, but not with the rest.

The book has more gore than I expected, which I'm very sensitive with.

DNF’d at 67% through the audiobook.

He focused way too much on graphic details of his sex life that was way too TMI…and an odd focus on shitting.

I appreciated hearing his turmoil and struggle with identity, but I couldn’t get past the prose, which felt like he was trying to force something profound that just wasn’t there.

This story wants to communicate that there were some big name actors at these scenes and parties, but won’t tell us who, which eventually just got tiresome and confusing. Overall a good piece of writing, would be good for a lot of gen z queer people to read.
