Sweetly tragic poetry. Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul - but it's grief and hunger and loss. Dreamy and absurdist and deeply feeling. I loved this so much. Every line.

I don't think this book found me at the right time and I would very much like to reread it at some point. The story is non-linear and very fragmented. It reads more like a narrative poem, with lots of metaphors that I think flew over my head. Any imagery that I did manage to picture was striking and evoked a sadness and longing that I still have to process.
