beautifully written, but not for me- definitely felt like a creative writing major going crazy with experimental style and storylines, but for me i needed more of a plot. i felt like i was watching an art film directed by a 21 yr old film major making a billion references to 20s silent films and obscure film theory, but in book form. every sentence was written to make a literary critic go wild.

I'm honestly not sure if the rating I gave is right or not. It's objectively a beautifully written story. But it's super heavy literary with a lot of metaphorical and flowery prose, which I'm not the best with. It's unique and it's got charm so I'll give that to it. I'm not really sure what to think!
This book has some beautiful and poetic writing, but I found myself wanting to skip over sections. I'm honestly not sure I understood the entire book.
