Completely and daringly honest! I really loved how raw the emotions are. My favorite thing about the book is how the tone of voice changed over the years as Jennette grew up. It starts off in her childhood years and you can feel how naive and simple the words are.

It might be triggering to people who have dealt with eating disorders since it’s very descriptive in that area, but I appreciate that she spoke out so honestly about it all including her relationship with her narcissistic mother.

Beautifully written. Difficult to read. Heartbreaking, but I'm glad I read it. Especially listening to the audiobook, I was almost sad it ended, just because I wanted to "talk" to Jeannette more.

Jennette is so open in this. She’s detailed but to the point, and candid when baring truths many people wouldn’t ever face in their lifetime. It’s difficult to read at points when hearing what she went through as a child and young adult, but it’s worth reading every line.

This was excellent. I started with the ebook and then saw some comments online recommending the audiobook so I switched over - so happy I did! I’ve never read a memoir before but this… wow. What a brave thing to write and publish. Super heartbreaking, especially hearing it through Jennette’s voice. Would recommend to others in a heartbeat, but would also advise reading trigger warnings ahead of time because this content is very heavy.
