The dark retelling of Jennette McCurdy story that needed to be heard. She is so real and yet at the end still hopeful. I'm so happy for her and how far she's made it 💗.

Such a revealing and vulnerable memoir that exposes the ways fame and pressure can traumatize young people, especially when the abuse is enabled and perpetrated by adults that should protect the children in their charge.

There is so so much packed into 300 pages. Just when I thought it couldn’t get worse, it did. I wanted nothing more than to read the entire book in a single day, but there were often moments that disturbed me so much that I had to step away. All the trigger warnings!

I applaud Jeanette for her distinct and intuitive voice as a storyteller. This memoir felt like a conversation with her and not just a straight retelling of childhood trauma. There was inner dialogue, witty comebacks and remarks, and most importantly major growth.

This is a must-read book of 2022 and beyond!
