This was a hard read that I couldn't put down. For someone to go through all of this, be healed, and be willing to share their story with the world is incredible. Jennette is so strong and I'm glad I finally got to listen.

First off, I don't think there's a reason, nor room to rate a persons account on their abuse and struggle-- not being all high and mighty, just no reason to. That being said, I'll share my thoughts on the material.
I find it interesting how the reader can find themselves, relate too, or otherwise connect with both, another strangers life, and material as "dramatic" (traumatic) as this. But, I guess, we've all experienced something, multiple things, loss, self-loathing to various degrees, whatever. I think what this book shows front and center is the cycle, the spiral, the hell you get trapped in-- and trap yourself in. Her mothers own abuse, her mothers abuse, her abuse of herself. The learning of what abuse even is.
It's important to say that this book made me uncomfortable. I get that's the point.
I both read and listened to the audiobook while getting through this, which made certain moments more impactful, and helped me get passed the "prose" [which I know sounds uppity but I mean it more as an "arbitrary bias" that I have in reading in general, and hearing it read--especially by the writer themselves--helped get rid of that hump for me.]
I personally don't find interest in harvesting all of the little details and secrets of hollywood, but there isn't much of that anyway, which I think is good. All I'm going to say is, W Miranda.
TLDR this is raw telling of a human. It's beyond the curtain of the character, the reality of someone that I grew up with on the tv, and someone that was part of a career/social circle (hollywood/child entertainment industry) that we soon after would learn is a terrible "machine."
I'm rooting for Janette, I guess that's all need to say about her book after reading it. Janette, not Sam, has a fan of me. (I also saw an interview after reading with her discussing everything and want to say that her fashion is dope.)

Es muy triste todo, si no estás en un buen momento es difícil de leer.

This was kind of insane, I didn’t realise the intensity of what Jannette went through, but the way it’s written is so easy to follow. Kind of makes you wonder what else happened in the darkness of childhood tv shows like iCarly

Whew - that was a lot. I wanted to like the book more but it really triggered my past eating disorder and I felt like I was holding my breath the whole time waiting to get to the healing part of the book.
