Introspective, yes. Interesting, yes. Funny, no. I love celebrity memoirs read by the author but this one’s landed at the bottom of my pile. It sounded like it would be a blend of dark humor but that was not my experience, despite expecting to connect to the topics.

Pretty sad and difficult content. I listened to her narrate her own audiobook which I thought was nice. Enjoyed her writing style.

It's refreshing to read a book for yourself, and especially in a genre you never thought you'd read. I'm glad to say this might have given me the courage to seek out help and that slip ups aren't so bad that they're progressed, too.

Overall, it's a great book, and I love the insight. 10/10 book.

(I did mention in my notes of this book that it's weird reading this, and it's not fiction. That this actually happened to someone, if that makes sense. Maybe it's because I read a majority of fiction. But it opened my eyes a little too.)

I’ve never been interested in celebrity memoirs, but this book was frankly gripping.

This book gives a perfect insight into the life of child actors, the trauma they face, and how it can scar them for much longer than one might think.

I don't read a lot of memoirs, to be honest. But I was on a roll after finishing the Traitor King about King Edward VII and Wallis Simpson. And this one was quite hyped up at that time.
I recognized her face but I never watched any iCarly episodes. I mean, I know about the shows et al. I also received enough trigger warnings prior. But this one is so honest.
I hope she writes more, she surely has a knack for it. One thing that Jeannette candidly tell the reader is her state of mind after iCarly ended. She spent enough years and to missed any life skill other people would have.
Yes, she sounded bitter when compare herself to Ariana Grande who came from a very different background. I mean, who wouldn't? I know I'd be as bitter, if not more, if I were in her shoes.
