I did not think i was going to like this book as much as I did. It’s so entertaining. Solid 4.75. Characters were engaging and the story is really well paced. From serious moments to humor and back. It was so fun reading this and i’m definitely reading the next two.

Book #12 of 2025 was Things We Never Got Pver and was another one of my 12 books of 2025 from a recommendation from a friend. I had some audiobooks on Libby that I was waiting to come off of hold so I decided to make this my March audiobook on Amazon Music. I am glad that I grabbed it! I was obsessed with it the whole time and hated when I had to stop listening on my commute or working out. I don't know if I would've liked it as much reading it but I loved the narrators which I think really helped. It was a cute grumpy vs sweet romance and the story line was good outside the romance. I rated it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 stars! Which makes it my second 5 star read of 2025!

I am really torn about my feelings for this book. Because I really loved it, but there are moments (mostly early in the book) where Knox is a walking red flag which makes it hard to feel great about him, even though he develops in the story. It is even harder to not notice those red flags when they are mostly shown during either conversations with Nash or when Knox is mentally thinking about Nash.  Despite that, however, the love in this book is amazing and heartwarming. But it isn't the love between Knox and Naomi that really made this book for me, despite that being the point since it is a romance book. It was the love for and rallying around Way that really made this for me. The way that everyone in that town and that family went out of their way to make sure that Way knew she was loved, cared about, and could enjoy things that she wanted just for herself. And, not only did that help Way, but it helped Naomi learn the same things for herself as she tries to model them for the child she has suddenly become the parent for. While most of this was really great, there were aspects of the plot that felt like they came a little bit out of left field. Specifically, the conflict at the end. I expected things with Tina would come to a head but that was a little....drastic. All I can think of is that it somehow tees up the next book with Nash, but it just seemed a bit much.

This is one of the worst books I’ve read this year. So much writing inconsistency, the pacing was terrible (it felt like nothing happened despite this book being over 600 pages long!), and the scenarios read like baby’s first Wattpad fanfiction. These were caricatures and not characters. She based everything off tropes. I really strongly disliked this book.

Did people think he was hot?? He was harassing her at work. Not to mention the overuse of “don’t talk to me until I’ve had my coffee” and the barrage of period puns. It was annoying at best.

Started off great and then went down hill the last 25% of the book. I was thinking before the bad part of a 4+ star rating. But the climax was disappointing. The characters were so cringey it broke the reality of the book. But I loved everything before the climax so I’m just disappointed.

Maybe it’s because I have a tendency to put others needs before my own, but I loved how a big part of the story was Naomi learning to accept the fact that she didn’t have to do everything on her own and can rely on others for help. I especially loved how her and Knox’s characters seem like a real life couple with the way they compliment, love, hurt, and help each other… this book was cute and I devoured it.

One of my favourite series ever. I love a grumpy x sunshine and a found family. This was my first Lucy Score, book; it made me fall in love with her writing and these characters. I immediately fell in love with both of the mcs, I loved the introduction to the world, it was entertaining and drama-filled from page 1. I not only fell in love with the mcs but also all the side characters, I could see the setup for future books but I also loved the depth other characters brought, which added depth to the mcs. It was a perfect slow burn that's full of tension, humour, and love. What was perfect was that you got the slow burn in the first half and the spice in the second half; the story had a crime side plot that was well-developed enough to make it a massive part of the story, linked to multiple side characters, and really dragged you in. I also loved the fact that they had real conversations and even though it was a happy ending, the conversations and self-healing to get there were healthy (in the end) and realistic. 6/5 stars!
