SNORE
BORING
I'm so pissed because I love vampires and this was one of the most boring books I've read. Not for me at ALL

I genuinely enjoyed reading this. It is a very exciting tale. My only critiques are that it can be a bit wordy and the charecters prone to hysteria sometimes. This does make reading so parts a little tedious, but it does chug along. For a classic book the treatment of the female charecters were very well done. I do wish the ending paid off more.

ur girl loves languorous language and books in which to some it might seem that nothing is happening… but this was truly too boring ngl… I liked the very beginning lol and like the fact that it is indeed pretty gay

The thing that I love about this book — and the thing that also leads to its flaw — is how the story is presented. The weaving of journals, articles, and telegrams are a fantastic way to provide different perspectives on the horror that is Dracula. Suspense thrives on the concept of the unknown and investment, and you really feel the characters going through the motions when they don't know what's coming next, and it tethers you into their reality. These journals exist in the world; the story isn't simply being spouted from some omniscient narrator.

But, with the characters sharing their thoughts and recording dialogue that they can somehow remember with pinpoint accuracy, it comes apparent that scenes will simply drag on for longer than necessary, repeating the same thing ad nauseam. I'm probably a little impatient when it comes to the slow, daunting pace that the horror needs to actually be scary, but at the end of the day, it wasn't gripping at my heartstrings hard enough in some places. ESPECIALLY at the end.

This was such a beautiful journey. I chose the book for Dracula but I stayed for the stunning character writing.

This book was far from creepy/scary. I found it to be really boring.
