This book is one that I quite enjoyed. It is not long in the story before there is a major incident that shapes the whole novel. A young mother has confessed to killing her new husband and baby but things are not as they seem. Her best friend is convinced she is innocent and sets out to prove it with the help of the young mother’s ex-partner.
The story progresses quickly over the span of a few days and at no point was I disinterested. I can recommend this book for those who like a good mystery/crime novel. Short enough to read in one sitting too.

A story of a best friend going the extra mile. Kept me on the edge of my seat and guessing who did it up until the very end.

This mystery/thriller revolves around two best friends, Morgan and Claire, who seem to be opposites in every way but have a solid friendship dating back to childhood. Claire is a new mother struggling with the changes in her life, and Morgan is the supportive best friend, even when Claire is arrested for the murder of her 6 week old son and her husband.

Morgan feels immediately that something is wrong even though Claire has confessed to the murders, or did she? As Morgan digs deeper into what happened that night, she starts to question the motives of some of the members of Claire’s dead husbands family.

I read this book in one and a half settings (a girl has to work), and it got better the further into the book I read. The only reason it didn’t get five stars and land on my re-read list is because the beginning of the book dragged for me and I had to get over that hump before it pulled me in.

If you like a good mystery and fancy yourself a detective, give this book a try!

Okay

It was good way to pass the time while traveling but not the best I’ve read. Very slow burn and I began to just look forward to the resolution not the journey.

A bit dated, but a good thriller. I did not guess the ending at ALL!
