This was such a beautiful, sad, funny book. I loved it a lot and cried so much at the end.

The only downside was the couple r slurs that were used. Felt of the time but still shitty

This book was one of the best books I've ever read. It was super gripping, especially in the end, and I felt like I had to keep reading it!

There were a number of things I really liked about this book. I felt Alex's character was fairly fleshed out, I liked the development of the story and how each character fit into the story line. I loved how Alex talked about his seizures and the imagery with his meditation.

I didn't like the casual use of the R word slur. Especially in light of what is clearly a neurodivergent character (I kept expecting a rebuke of some sort, like what happened with the c word and the n word being quoted).

Overall, a good medium paced read

I really enjoyed this book! Alex's relationship with Mr. Peterson left me feeling warm and comfortable. Exploring Alex's childhood through his teenage years, it's great to see his character develop as he spends more time with Mr. Peterson. Even though the beginning is almost the ending of the book, I enjoyed getting know how Alex got himself there. Both a funny and a sad read for me.
