My quick take on this on this one:

This book focused more on Garret, which automatically made it more enjoyable for me than the last one (which featured Riley more prominently). Though, I still wasn't a huge fan of the backstory because I always just want to get back to the present.

In this installment, our MCs start to unravel the mysteries surrounding Talon and St. George and find out what the organizations' agendas truly are. I love Garret and Ember together, and we get less of that in this book (since Garret left at the end of the previous book), but Kagawa kept the connection between them strong, even when they were apart. A new character is introduced (Jade), who brings a new dimension to the story and helps us learn even more about the dragons.

This installment has plenty of action and sleuthing and the ending is... I'm just glad I could jump straight into book four or I might have had a breakdown! I think I'd rate this one at 4.5 stars

Oh Dante...what did you do now?

It has been months, MONTHS, since I finished the second book of this series. Not sure why I just ghosted the crap out of this back in January.. but I'm hoping to redeem myself now. That being said, I dove into Soldier pretty freaking quickly and devoured it all up.

My hatred for love triangles continues to grow and this book just added more fuel to the giant fire. Last time, I liked both guys - Garett and Riley. Mostly because they were likable. Yet, now.. I just want her to pick one of them or none of them.

Other than that, so many things annoyed me in this book. For example, Dante. Freaking Dante. All of a sudden he's like a brainless robot and is all about team talon. Then there's Ember, who is using her brain and isn't getting on that bandwagon. I just think that Dante needs a good slap or something to wake him up. He needs to see what is going on right?? Ugh!

I need to see how this series is going to end at this point.

4.5 stars. This novel killed me every chapter, throwing wrenches into plans and shriveling up hope every moment. I could predict half of the plot twists at the end of the novel, but some did serve their earth shattering purposes. An amazing third novel in the series, with stakes higher than before, secrets rampant and betrayals around every corner.

For sure the author is improving her story telling and I was enthralled.

Ima be pissed is Garrett is dead dead though.

Although I'm glad that we finally learned what Dantes importance is. I can't wait to find out about Ember and if it's the same as Dantes

ugh I like this series but I find that I don't love it or the all the characters. Garrett and Tristen and Wes are the only characters I liked.
The Plot was very slow and picked up and got interesting in the last 3 chapters.
I do plan on reading the rest only because I checked on what happened and am interested in seeing the journey to that point, so I really do hope it gets better.

After the first two books I didn't expect much from this one, but it turns out, that it was actually the best one yet.
Picked up the next one immediately!

I can't say about this book without spoiling a bunch of the plot. It had a lot of elements that I liked. A lot that would have had it at a three- or even four-star rating if the thing that happens at the end hadn't happened. Considering my feelings about the direction the romance seems to be heading in, I'm not sure I'll be continuing with this series. On the one hand, I want to know how things end, but on the other hand, romance usually makes up the good portion of my enjoyment of a book and I'm not on board with the apparent romantic interest. I really liked the first two books, but this one just left me so frustrated and disappointed. (If you've read this, let me know if a certain someone stops being so darn possessive, maybe then I could be okay with all that.)
