⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 stars
I admit I went into this book not expecting to like it much because I am so picky when it comes to thriller/mystery books.
I'm happy to report that I really enjoyed this book. I though the premise was very interesting even if the Jon Benet Ramsey similarities were aplenty.
I thought the progress of the story was well executed and I really enjoyed each of the reveals. Nothing was too out there.
Overall, this was good! I would read from this author again for sure!

Realllyyyy liked this one! Loved the little gayness towards the end <3 Also another ending I was obsesssd with.
This really needs a 3.5. It has so many good features. It was hard to put it down! There were a few “convenient” events or responses that kept it from a 4. Despite that, I really enjoyed the book.

This book is a slow burn, I was interested so I kept going.
The ambiguous ending didn't help the overall rating of this book. While I enjoyed the epilog, it was somewhat what I expected, the reasons behind it and true malice of the killer was shocking, so I'll give the author that.
Some of the twists that were presented to us were glaring from a mile way for me, may have been a surprise for others though.
Also, this was another non police detective solving a cold case, at least she was an investigative reporter so it was more believable than a regular old stay at home mom solving the case, still don't love this trope, this has me removing a star.
Overall, it was a good debut novel, I'd continue to give the author a chance, but if we just get more of the same I wouldn't be too surprised.
