Cute Story with Snall Town Drama

In a small town it's hard for everyone not to know everyone's business. Which prevents Ruth from really going out and moving past a bad-ex.

Evan, new to town becomes enamored with his new neighbor Ruth.

It's nice to see them both heal with each others help.

And fall in love.

I appreciated how Ruth grew as a character. Their relationship did more fast, but it worked I think.

This is a very light read.

It’s not my favourite adult contemporary novel though. But I will give this a generous 3 star rating.

This was book #15 for Romanceopoly 2020.

Challenge Pack: Sun
Square: BFF's House
Challenge: Read a friends to lovers romance

Talia Hibbert is a new-to-me author but I simply adore her writing. While I struggled to connect to the heroine, Ruth, for the first few chapters. Hibbert's writing told me to keep going and I'm so grateful that I did.

The love story between Ruth and Evan was so unique and universal. I adored watching the love develop between these two completely different people.

The narration of Rupert Channing was excellent. I downloaded the next book in the series before I finished the first one.

Okay so this book wasn’t anywhere near the top of my TBR tbh, so when my book besties randomly picked it off my TBR I tried to go into it with an open mind… & I’m so glad I’ve read this book now & can’t wait to read the rest of the series!

We’ll start off with Ruth, she is such a loveable character and bless her and what she’s been through! She’s one of them FMCs that you just instantly want to be friends with!

Then we have Evan… he is a delicious book boyfriend! I adore a man with patience and who takes their time! He is so good at accepting Ruth how she is, & learning her little quirks & mannerisms!

I’m usually not a massive lover of a 3rd person POV but it seemed to really suit this book really well! Zach & Hannah were such loveable side characters and I’m intrigued to see how their books will be!

The only slight issue I had was when Evan described Ruth, he made her sound quite young… which didn’t massively entice me & it was quite insta lovey too. But overall was a really good book!
