this book wasnt particularly bad or anything, but it just didnt rly click w/ me.

the midnight library has an intriguing premise, deals w/ interesting themes and ideas; def makes me reflect, and can be inspiring and life-affirming at points. also appreciate how it doesnt end w/ a new romantic prospect that solves all of the main character's problems.

however, i feel like suddenly thrusting nora into various situations w/o any understanding of each life's inner workings isnt the best way to go abt it. the writing's also clunky and the dialogue could even be rly awkward at points, and that becomes annoying after a while. i get why many ppl love this book, but in my opinion it couldve been better executed.

After attempted suicide, a woman enters a magical library that lets her explore her other possible lives. An interesting concept, but full of repetitive advice & lacking the expected emotional impact. Read this if you like "What if?" stories exploring human frailties and don't mind heavy-handed messages that are spelled out and repeated just to make sure you get the point.

Considering this book had been on my shelf for months and I wasn't that enthusiastic about reading it, this book really surprised me. I thought it was going to be childish but the idea of the library was really cool. Was a little bit cringey at times though.
