No, that's okay. I didn't need my heart. You can just trample on it. *still crying*
Oh god, this was a masterful book. It tied together the series beautifully, even if my favorite characters are. I didn't need my heart, really. Here, you can have it.

Three for three. Inhaled the day after Thanksgiving, with no regrets.
A bittersweet ending, so you know you've done something.
This series was absolutely not what I expected. I was so profoundly blown away with not only this world, but the characterization and the humor. These are living, breathing, fully-fleshed out characters with exasperation and aspiration. I loved the creeping tension as action scenes were carefully structured well before any action. The absolute tragedy of the best of us.
10/10 would recommend.

This series reminds me of Max Gladstone’s Craft series and N.K. Jemison’s Inheritance Trilogy (which is better, but that’s only because Jemison is SO SO GOOD). All three take seriously the idea of what a world with powerful but flawed gods would actually be like.
Good world building, morally complex and interesting characters, reflective of a modern and slyly humorous perspective. This one is very, very dark until it isn’t.

A truly excellent ending to a great trilogy. The world Bennett created is so inventive, believable, and encompassing. And I loved the character development and the overall message of the series. I would recommend this to anyone with an interest in fantasy.
