This book is was painful to read. It gets 2 stars because I'm a LOTR fan and there are some interesting things in there, but most of the book was a slog.

This was really great LOTR lore. As much debate as there is, we need some sort of film adaptation, come on people. While I understand it spans many years and characters and legends all I could think about while reading it was how SICK it would be to actually see it! At the very least a truly illustrated edition? graphic novel? limited series????
