Nightbitch finally dropped from my Libby holds. I stayed up late and tore through it in one voracious sitting. WHAT A BOOK.
There's so much to say. I am enthralled by how the author weaves the day-in, day-out routines and thankless, backbreaking labor of motherhood into this... vivid, visceral tapestry of genuine body horror and isolation? The nod to The Yellow Wallpaper at the beginning was well-situated, especially drawing comparisons with the absentee breadwinner engineer husband. I love how embracing her feral self helps her become a more present mom and returns her to her independence and artistry. Is it Real? Who cares? The whole MLM thing is buckwild. I loved, loved, loved this book.

Let’s start with this: Nightbitch is well-written. But as a childless cat lady, I found myself thinking of 419 reasons that I'm glad I'm not a mother.
A choice from my bookclub, I didn’t expect feline abuse wrapped in a metaphor and served as character development. No thank you. This mother of cats didn't appreciate it. To much gore for me.
