This was such a fun book and was perfect to read right before Christmas! Claire is a New York business woman who is traveling to the town of Merryville, where is Christmas all year round. On her way, her rental breaks down and she is rescued by a sexy lumberjack named Jake.

Claire and Jake had instant chemistry. Shes a bit of a grump and he is friendly and loved by the people in town. These two had great banter and I really enjoyed getting both POV’s. Claire discovering the town and its residents was really fun and I loved watching her slowly open up to Jake. Jake’s family was amazing. Loved the dynamic he has with Mawmaw especially. The chapters with her were so cute and funny.

This book was perfect if you are looking for a quick holiday rom-com to read before the holiday! It even has a grumpy cat! I will definitely be checking out the next book in the series, A Very Merry Nanny.

When Claire’s truck breaks down while on her way to Merryville, a stranger named Jake is the one to find her and with no other options, she accepts his offer to stay with him. I loved this pairing. CeCe’s grumpy-girl vibes and Jake’s cinnamon roll charm make for the cutest opposites-attract holiday romance!

This is by far the best Christmas book I've read this year!! I didn't realize how much I needed a small town southern man like Jake.

Jake is from Merryville, a small town in Texas. He's a lumberjack who's protective and also a real gentleman. I loved seeing the chemistry between Jake and Clarie. They are complete opposites, but they are perfect for each other.

Merryville is filled with Christmas spirit, I just wanted to pack up my bags and move there. The town is filled with people who continuously display their southern hospitality, which is especially special at Christmas time.

I can't wait to continue on in Merryville with the next Jolly brother!! This was such a fun, cozy read that I didn't want to set down.

Perfect if you like:

How Stinkin cute! This read like a hallmark movie with a tad bit of spice and it was perfection! Claire's trip to Merryville is rife with issue after issue. Stranded on the side of the road, she reluctantly accepts a ride from local lumberjack Jake Jolly. Of course when she goes to check in at the inn, there was a mix up with the reservation and now she doesn't have a place to stay - thankfully Jake offers her a place to crash. Their forced proximity leads to a "no-strings attached" agreement that quickly becomes something more. Unfortunately, Claire hasn't been truthful about her real reason for being in town and the truth threatens to destroy everything they have created.

I started this series out of order with book #2 (A Very Merry Nanny - which I highly recommend) and I knew I had to go back to the first book. The town of Merryville is the perfect cheesy holiday mecca - full of a cast of fun characters. This story was the perfect mix of sweet, spicy, and cheesy. I can't wait for the next installment in this series.

Reading this one is definitely not a mistake. It pulls you in at the first sentence and takes you on a merry journey to the very end. It has some of everything; a fish out of water, grumpy vs. sunshine, witty banter, sweet romance and delectable spice. There are even a couple of characters to raise your ire and a snobby cat. Can't wait to return to Merryville in the next installment.

Well Rounded Christmas Romance

Jake is so good for Claire! I love their dynamic! I absolutely love when the author shows the pet's personality - and boy does Tinsel the kitty have one! She is a sassy, smart old girl who knows way before the humans do. If you have to ask, read and find out.
Claire really finds herself, but both Jake and Claire learn about setting boundaries. I love the ending so much! The way things progressed and were concluded was so satisfying! I can't wait to finish book 2!
