Honestly, It's closer to like a 3.5, there were many elements that I enjoyed and the book was very endearing though heartbreaking at the same time. There was something about these characters that is so weirdly realistic that it hurts that I got to know them and see them go through these things in the book. Overall, not bad. (Reminds me slightly of the films Liverleaf and All About Lily Chou-Chou)
+ edit: After rethinking this book I have updated my rating to 4 stars, it's been on my mind a lot more these days and with time I like it a lot more.

It’s a well written book which I enjoyed but wouldn’t read again. The descriptions of abuse are very detailed and can make you uncomfortable at times- I understand this is the point though. I do agree with the writer up to an extent that we allow stuff to happen to us and we can stop them if we can. Also on the fact that things just happen without reason sometimes but it does matter ! Anyways good book but I’m glad I finished it
