Really good read. Fasting moving. Not too much jumping about in time or too many characters. Good twists and turns.

The Serial Killer’s Wife was definitely not what I was expecting whatsoever and oh boy what a roller coaster ride it was. At times the story moved along at a pace that was too slow for me but I found that the author still managed to keep me intrigued.
I really enjoyed the dual POV especially since it showed me who Beth and Tom really were. Although I never really saw Beth’s true self until the very end which in my opinion was very interesting. I also really liked the other two perspectives that were woven throughout the dual timeline.
Oh my gosh what an ending that was. I seriously never saw it coming and my mind is completely blown.
I recieved an advanced copy for free, and this is my honest opinion.

A gripping thriller with a great plot. Suspenseful and full of twists. I was hooked from the first page. Beth and Tom have the perfect marriage. Their move from London to a beautiful Oxfordshire village with their young daughter is the icing on the cake. But when the police arrive on Beth's doorstep and Tom is unexpectedly late home from work, the life they have built begins to unravel.
3.5 stars
Enjoyed it for the most part until the ending. Ending let it down for me really badly. Might edit this when I'm more awake
- ok new edit now I've had some time to think.
This book is a slow build up towards a bunch of twists and turns towards the last 100 pages. I think in murder mysteries you expect twists here and there but this book is a slow burn and that might put some people off however, I didn't mind. I think Tom's chapters didn't add anything to the story and the book could have been the same without them.
Beth's character just.... is a little bland in all honesty to me. I couldn't find something to really like about her or relate to specifically. There doesn't seem to be any real-life problems she faces. Who's going to pay the mortgage? Who's going to pay the bills? How can she run and café, pay for childcare when the main breadwinner is in jail? I think this book lacks a little realism in this sense.
Now the ending. I see a lot of reviews saying they loved the twist ending but did find it predictable. I, arguably, didn't find it predictable. Although found it more preposterous more than anything. It seems like the author included the end of the book to set herself up for writing a sequel, when this would have been a good standalone book by itself. This book doesn't need a sequel. It would have been fine to end it with Beth being happy in a new relationship and that be that. It still would have held up as a 3-4* novel. I think the author fell into the "this is a serial killer novel it NEEDS shocking twists" and that let it down for me.
