A story told in three different eras about three women and the secrets that tie together the story of their shared pasts. There is no doubt that all three authors are excellent writers. For example, they are so good that even though they take little time to show love developing between their characters, the writing makes the reader believe it anyway.

The overall brushstrokes of the plot were easy to discern; it was the details that kept me reading to learn motivations. If you are a fan of historical fiction books, storylines that alter between decades, or a follower of any of these authors individual works then I'd recommend giving this book a try. It was good and what I expected from Willig and Williams (I've yet to read anything else by White).

I'm between a 3 and a 4 on this one. I loved how the stories wove together and I really connected with all the characters. I loved how Kate's story ended and I thought Lucy's made sense but Olive's just really made me angry. I understand why it ended the way it did or else the rest of the book wouldn't have happened but I just felt the choice she made was unnecessary and unbelievable. I think once I sit with my feelings on this my rating may be closer to a 4 star, but not yet. I do think the authors did an amazing job of weaving a cohesive novel. I had originally assumed that each author would be writing their own story, but if they did I couldn't tell

Last book recommended to be for 12 books by 12 friends!!!! This one was just okay. Three stories lines, kept my spinning.

Wow! I could not put this one down. It was like back in school hiding my book under the desk to read in class!

I loved this book. I loved the different time periods although I did get confused once or twice!

I bought this book months ago and every time I needed something to read it just didn't seem like the time. Today, I needed something and I immediately went to the shelf and pulled it off. This was the perfect read for me. A day at home with not too many things to get done. I love books that unravel the past, that involve many different layers of story. The authors did just that here, pulling me in to the lives and motivations of these characters and their worlds. What a wonderful way to spend my day. Can't wait to see their next work come out.

Enjoyable, but not a must-read. Classified as historical fiction, but the history here just provides the smallest touch of atmosphere. Lots of coincidences that require some suspension of disbelief.

❤❤❤

I didn't love this....it started out promisingly--each of the three narrators is exploring/living/working in the same mansion decades apart and there's some thruline about a Sir Galahad mural. I loved how the authors grounded the story in that place and we saw it through three different eyes.

I didn't end up loving the mystery or the characters, though. I don't know if it's because I was grabbing a page or two at a time, sometimes reading until I couldn't keep my eyes open another minute late at night, but I never really figured out the family trees and didn't really care how things unraveled here. I found it hard to follow, which surprised me as I just read the second Team W novel and found it easy enough and enjoyable... However, I did the other book on audio in hour long chunks so maybe that's the trick.

Anyway. So the mansion and the paintings were cool and everything. But meh to the rest of it.
