I really enjoyed this book. Not my favorite by this author, but overall it was good! I listened to it as a audiobook, and I do admit that that may be part of the reason I rated it a bit lower than I normally rate Karen White. This book follows 3 generations and it was confusing at times trying to figure out which generation I was on. I think had I read it by reading a book that it wouldn’t have been as confusing.
Also, and this is no one faults but my own, there’s a character called Phillip Schuyler, and he’s almost always referred to as Phillip Schuyler, and my Hamilton loving heart ALWAYS goes “Uhoh! But little did he know...” which is quite distracting. 😂

Nice easy read. Well organized in jumping between characters and learning about their lives.

This is one of the most thrilling pieces of fiction I've read in awhile! If you like historical fiction, period dramas, romances, and/or mysteries – this book is for you! While it's not a mystery, per se, the storyline has you guessing until the very end.
I picked up this book because I love the writing of Lauren Willig. And, after reading the book, I can't tell which character she wrote. All three of these ladies have similar writing styles which make for a seamless story. If I hadn't read the cover, I would have never known it was penned by three different authors.

First time reading a novel by the three writers. I really enjoyed it. It started well with Kate's story then I was lost after the first chapter. I was going to give up then after a while I get the feel of the story and it pulls me in. I drew a family tree to keep track of the characters. This was a great read!!
I listened to the audiobook version of this book and really enjoyed the narrators. The story takes place over three generation beginning in the 1890's and ending in the 1940's. It reminded me of a Kate Morton book somewhat. There are some sensual scenes but nothing too revealing. If you like Karen White's stories, you'll like this. There are three different authors and each story is very compelling. They all fit together nicely.
An historical fiction telling 3 distinct but related stories from 3 different time periods, all revolving around one mansion. I liked Kate's story best. Olive's was frustrating and Lucy's was rage-inducing.
