Took me a while to get into this one. A little confusing trying to figure out all the connections, and the plot depends on coincidence a little too much at the end, but I still enjoyed the ride. 3.5 stars

Here is my review from my blog: http://polyliteramore.blogspot.com/2016/12/books-on-break.html

Co-written by Karen White, Beatriz Williams, and Lauren Willig, The Forgotten Room occupied my flight back to California. I had bought The Forgotten Room back in October when my dad took me to the Santa Monica Barnes&Noble store. Yet another historical fiction World War II novel, the books details the story of three women spanning three generations. As the book progresses, art, love, and family intertwine to create a love story that transcends socioeconomic boundaries. I loved the subtle incorporation of art and history into this book, and the way the authors slowly reveal the connections between the characters as the story develops.

I give this book 3.75 stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book did have a slow start, but had amazing middle and end. 4 generations of 2 families who kept falling in love but could not make it work. Would the next generation make it? Each chapter is different characters from Olive (1892), Lucy (1920), & Kate (1944). They are each descendants who keeps being drawn to the Mansion in New York. Olive was servant, Lucy was tenant, and Kate a Doctor. Olive was trying to get revenge on her father death who created the mansion. Lucy trying to forgive who her real Father was. Kate was a doctor who worked at the mansion for soldiers. Lucy and Kate find out the truth of their past and the men who they fell in love with.

The women were realist and men were a romantic. It’s funny how history repeats itself.

This book will make you think of you first love and keep thing what if but how life gets away.

I loved this tale told from three generations of women, all with a connection to the same mansion. That being said, the character I connected most deeply with played a supporting role. The fact that I didn't empathize as strongly with the main protagonists kept it from receiving a higher ranking.

4.5 stars. I love Beatriz Williams and her dual storylines, and this had three storylines. It was so much fun to read. And I love that this is a collaboration of three authors as well.

Predictable, but still an amazing story. Loved every minute of it.

3 parallel story lines across 3 generations.

I know it is cheesy, I know it is corny, I know it is lame... but I love it just the same :) Multigenerational romance, totally predictable mystery, but I don't care. Sometimes you just need a silly little historical fiction romance and this did the trick. Completely entertaining and what more could you want :)
