Confusing at times with the 3 different time periods and similar names, and the "twists" were quite predictable.
I love how the story all came together. Knowing that each woman's story was written by a different author made it all the more brilliant. I have my own idea which author wrote which story but I am ok with never knowing if guessed right.
Characters mostly idiots. Big mystery tying the book together seems to be whether the later couples are committing incest or not.
The Forgotten Room collaboratively written by Karen White, Beatriz Williams, and Lauren Willig sets three heroines in three different time periods. Since the timeline of the stories is clear and the connection between the three becomes clear quickly, the endings of two of the love stories are a foregone conclusion. The book is predictable, but sometimes, that is just what you need. A cozy book, a cup of tea, and a comfy couch to create a lovely afternoon escape.

Very interesting concept to tie the three stories together with a wonderful twist or two to keep it interesting. I am always a fan of Lauren Willig but will have to check out some more books by the other two writers.

I really wanted to like this book, but I just could not get into it. I'm a big fan of Karen White, which is the main reason I picked up this book. The story is stretched between 3 main characters in 3 different time periods, and it made following the story just too confusing for me, it didn't seem to flow easily together. I also had to create a chart to keep all the characters and how they are related straight. When charts are needed it stops being fun to read and becomes work. As a result I just couldn't finish this one.
3.5 rounded down. If you're a fan of romance there's a good chance you'll like this better than I did. The genre isn't my first to pick up but I'll still read the right book if it comes along. This was one of those. It's also interesting because it's written by three different authors. I've not read anything by any of them so I have no idea who wrote each point of view or if this is anything like any of their individual works.
This book tells three different stories. Three women in three different decades have a story to tell. And somehow they're all connected. With lots of names other than the three main characters and some last names overlapping the decades it can be a bit confusing trying to remember which character you're reading about and how things connect and overlap as the story develops.
The novel flows and had there not been three authors on the cover I wouldn't have thought that three different people wrote this. Each main character had her own emotions, way of doing things, and story to tell. And they all blended and made sense in the end.

I received a free galley copy of the book through First To Read. While I enjoyed each of the three women's stories and the time periods highlighted by each story arc, the story was tainted most of the time for me by the possible incest. I couldn't really root for the couples because of what hung over their heads. That said, the twists and turns kept me me hooked throughout the novel.
