This was a great little fluffy read. It was so nice to see two women fall in love.

At times the book was a little cringey or cliche and sometimes the characters were a bit immature but I think it’s because they had a lot of unresolved trauma. I really liked Iris and Delilah’s back and forth banter. It was nice to see how these ladies’ relationships developed. The sex scenes were very beautiful and well-written. I did feel like sometimes the author over emphasized their queerness and feminism to the point where the sentence was a little awkward or cringey.

All in all a very cute read. I enjoyed it.

Delilah Green Doesn’t Care was the queer love story I didn’t know I needed.

This book is so good! The queer joy, the family dynamics, the cute relationship vibes, the TRUST! Delilah Green absolutely cares about so many things and so many people, and seeing her flourish was so lovely and heartwarming.

Read this book if you love
💜 Sapphic romance
💜 found family
💜 only one bed
💜 grumpy/sunshine
💜 single parent
💜 strong female friendship

This was my first time reading a single parent romance and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it! It’s definitely made me more open to other single parent books in the future.

I will definitely be reading the rest of the Bright Falls books. 4.5 stars

This was the sweet little slice of romance I needed after reading so many horror books back to back. It was a classic trope of a character moving away from their hometown only to be brought back by some event and falling in love with someone from their childhood. In this case Delilah, returns for her estranged stepsister’s wedding and falls in love with her stepsister’s childhood best friend, Claire.
I’m a little bit of a sucker for a miscommunication trope, but executed well. & I was a little frustrated by it in this one just because I felt if Claire just talked to Delilah instead of assuming shit things might have gotten resolved quicker-ish. But it wasn’t the worst.

  • everyone is bi
  • sapphic
  • childhood hometown, small town romance
  • group of girl friends

I expected more connection to the characters, but kinda couldn't keep some of the friends straight. The whole plotline of breaking up their friend's wedding was like... "yall really let her get all the way this far before stepping in? are y'all actually friends?" The relationship between Delilah and Claire didn't really hit either, it felt very like insta-lovey. I think there was actually just not enough focus on their relationship to make it seem more believable.
