The bullet that missed has been an enjoyable next installment in The Thursday mystery club series. I had good fun following along with a endearing cast who are well balanced characters who make you love them whilst acknowledging their flaws.
The plot was fun, perhaps not as good as the last entry but still has twists and turns. Wasn't overly a fan of the last twist however it wasn't bad, just a little predictable.
The writing as usual flows well. I enjoy how characters thoughts and con ersations seem to naturally flow. I really enjoy Richard's writing style. It's so easy to read.

The story follows our Thursday murder club, embarking on a new adventure when they get entangled in a cold case from 10 years ago that’s not all it seems, alongside the threat of murder to one of their own.

Out of the three books so far, I’ve found the second to be my favourite but I did really love the development of the characters within this one. I’ve found myself understanding the different quirks they have and the ways in which they would react and respond to certain situations which has made the novels very entertaining to read.

In particular, I’ve found the development of Elizabeth’s past, alongside Ron’s current lifestyle to be the best parts of this book, as it’s added onto the prior storylines without making too many changes or increasing the information to make it hard to remember which was good. I also found the relationship between Elizabeth and Stephen to be very bittersweet, as much as I’m enjoying it develop, I’m dreading what may be coming up in the next book and what changes await them.

The thing I didn’t enjoy about this novel was the pacing of the plot, as I found it began quite slowly but then suddenly a lot was happening towards the end and it felt like everything was coming to a point rather quickly! I also found parts of the plot to be on the slightly far fetched side, but entertaining non the less! Bring on the next novel, I’m very excited to see what happens 🤩

I really enjoyed this. I LOVE the Thursday Murder Club gang, and this series is truly so brilliant. It's so funny, so sweet, and I love the characters' progression throughout the series. Richard Osman is such a talented writer, managing to create the right amount of mystery, suspense, and humour. Joyce is definitely my favourite character,
and Donna and Bogdan's relationship is so cute.
