I was highly anticipating this book but it did disappoint me. I was expecting more but with all the different perspective it really took away from the story and I wanted more of Amanda and Dawson's relationship from their teenage years. I wanted a bit more of their relationship in the present also, I felt like their story wasn't explore to the fullest extent . I wanted more of Amanda and Dawson and less of the other characters.

I am truly touched by this author's stories, he really is a creative and beautiful writer. In this novel he's touched on the choices his characters makes, which involve a great deal of emotion. Love, sacrifice, fate, hope, forgiveness just to mention a few points which this novel deals with. It does have some violence but not an over abundance.

I've read many Nicholas Sparks books and I find that the more I read the less I seem to like them. I find that his books become very repetitive, but I guess that, that is the genre that he is writing so that doesn't bother me too much. I enjoyed this book through-out the first half, however I found the ending SO cliche. I really wanted to see all of the relationships get really messy and then see how they would be put back together again, however, I feel like Sparks really took the easy way out of this book instead. The result leaves the reader feeling like the book was pointless because by the end of the book the major storyline is totally left behind for an overpowering scapgoat. Still, I'm giving this book 3 stars or an "i liked it" rating because I did like the idea of the book and for the majority of the book it kept me very interested.
