It’s a great peak behind the curtain! I loved hearing the funny stories and little dramas. Nothing insane, just a really good overview of the hows and whys of my favorite era of TV

I might be the exact target audience for this book. I thought it was fascinating and well-constructed, and I’ve already recommended it to a dozen people

I feel like the title is a little misleading: most of the book’s chapters are dedicated to the rise of Disney Channel’s most popular shows and stars. Although Spencer does touch on the difficulties some of Disney’s actors had in their later teen years and early adulthood, most of the “fall” of the network is summarized in the epilogue. I’m not necessarily looking for gossip about individual actors, but the premise does make it seem like the book would explore more why Disney Channel doesn’t have the same popularity and relevance it did in the 2000s.

If you were a Disney Channel kid, you should read this! Very well researched and written, and the audiobook is read by LaLaine. Will absolutely be spending this upcoming weekend binging old DCOMs.
