I definitely expected this to be a lot funnier than it was. It did hold my interest, but I didn't love it. I would have been interested to read more about her time working on Party Down and Glee (especially Party Down). Also, the ending chapters are a bit sad since she and Lara have since divorced. I'd recommend this book to real fans of Lynch's, but casual fans will likely be disappointed.

So interesting. A unique take on alcoholism and the day-to-day life of a working actor. I was drawn to this book because of Glee, and because my daughter is interested in an acting career, and I wanted to know how it had unfolded for Ms. Lynch. I got way more than I bargained for, and I do appreciate the honesty, and the gratitude and self-reflection.

A light and easy read that is enjoyable from beginning to end. Would recommend to those going through difficult times looking for inspiration on how things do eventually "get better"

There's nothing earth shattering in this, I just find Jane very likable.

I totally read this several years ago on audiobook. Lynch narrates, which is great, and she just seems like such a nice, happy lady in real life.

It surprised me how she didn't feel confident in her abilities until mid-life, and she is so candid about it and also her alcoholism. Sad that she's already divorced.

This book would have been way boring if I had read the print version. It's basically a straight chronology of her life and career. It includes some reflection, but I didn't find any of it particularly insightful or humorous. I can't help but compare it to Bossypants, which is a much better book. Tina Fey writes with the same oddball self-deprecating humor that makes her such a good comedic actress. I didn't think Jane Lynch's comedic talents came through her writing at all. It was fine to listen to in the car, though - it kept me occupied during my commute. And now I feel inspired to revisit some Christopher Guest films.

Biographies are either inspirational or self indulgent. I have to say that this account of Jane Lynch's life is humble, appreciative, heartwarming and gives a positive message. I have read this at the right time as I have been trying to reach decisions over my career and situations. This booked unexpectedly helped. Thanks Jane. Although times have changed and her situation is slightly different at the end in regards to her divorce it's a good read and you understand that life is a journey with no destination. Just moments.
