This is one of those books that I wish would keep going. It's based on true circumstances, but is a masterfully told work of fiction. The protagonist is an attorney who gets innocent people out of prison by reviewing their cases and sometimes solving the crimes they were imprisoned for. The book follows two men in particular and includes some great scenes, such as searching for clues in a haunted house. I know, that sounds, hokey, but it's really well done. There's probably no point in reviewing a John Grisham book, because everyone already knows it's going to be good, but I just wanted to put it on the record since I really liked it.

I love that Grisham has gone back to his roots of justice themes. This is a good one, involving an innocent death row inmate whose case has been taken on by an Innocence Project-like organization. Loved everything about it - characters, writing, etc. Good company on my walks, and a worthwhile statement about our justice system and the need for its reform.

The Guardians is an excellent book. Definitely a "Legal Thriller" - emphasis on the legal. I work in the legal field so it was enjoyable for me to read. A dense book with multiple story lines or almost story lines are introduced. I recommend this book for readers who want a true legal thriller complete with hearings, briefs, trials, and detailed evidence proceedings!

I really loved this it's like a Law and Order meets the Mentalist with a worthy cause, and parts of the crime were based off a true case!
This was a little back and forth cause it covers more than one case but the whole thing was nicely written, funny in places and never info dumped too heavily. I will be putting John Grisham in my future TBR rotation.
