honestly this book is pretty dull. the plot is not super interesting and it’s not well developed. the characters feel flat. the conflict doesn’t have enough drama or high stakes to make you care. overall bleh. but i will read the second book to see if it gets any more interesting

It’s childish writing. If you write down how many times the words “flush, breath, oh, shiver, heat” and other variants of those words, it’d take up at least a quarter of the 260 pages this book has to offer. It’s very cliche, predictable, and so surface level when you ignore the scenes and focus solely on the plot. It’s an empty story with some spicy embellishments and relatability only in the general sense.
