3 ⭐️ 4 🌶️ I found the ending to this book thoroughly predictable. Maybe that stems from me reading a lot of thriller novels; but the twist was very apparent to me as well as the cliffhanger to get you to read the second book. I didn’t care too much for any of the characters, especially the FMC’s roomies. I’m not sure if I enjoyed it enough to continue the series, it’s definitely not a main priority to me right now. Maybe later down the line just to see how everything plays out.

Tessa’s sister, Wren, passes away after an incident while she was at Ashford College. Tessa has a plan to find the people who did it and bring them to justice. What she didn’t consider was meeting Anthony St. Clair (Saint), a professor at Ashford and in line to be the next Duke of Ashford. While trying to stay on top of her studies and indulging in her feelings, Tessa tries to remind herself why she is in Oxford at all. Wren. Can she unravel the secrets that Ashford holds?

I enjoyed Tessa and Saint’s relationship. The banter between the two of them was perfectly witty and flirty. So far, this is not a miscommunication trope book. They fought and they communicated like normal people, which was nice see.  This book has a good mix of plot and spice (🌶️🌶️🌶️.75). I am very suspicious of Max Lancaster and I don’t know how to feel about Hugh Ambrose.  The cliffhanger has me running for book two because WHAT? 😩

Its a mission turned love story of Tessa and Saint. Tessa came in oxford by securing scholarship but her primary mission was  to find out the  culprit behind her sister's death. Its a professor and student romance where Saint belongs to one of the aristocrats of London and through the help of him Tessa began to dig deeper. Its a thriller and mystery book with also a good amount of spice. Overall good read

Not going to lie, kind of boring. I’m still going to read the rest of the series.
