DNF 16%. I just really didn't like the writing style and wasn't really moved by the plot so I'll put it down and maybe try some other time.

I thought the way this was written was really interesting. The characters were very flawed but still pretty easy to read about. I liked the ending a lot. The language and some of the scenes were a little much at times, but overall I found it to be a pretty good read.

i actually found this book quite good and told in an interesting way, through lists. i liked it a lot and it made me laugh several times. i think i just felt bored after awhile, because the book is LONG .i want to try this one again someday.

i really liked the concept of this book, but after a while it started to get really old. i feel like this would be a lot better if the lists were integrated into written chapters rather than being the driving force of the narrative - although the plot wasn't the most interesting thing either. i wasn't interested in any of the characters and after about halfway reading this really felt like a chore. since this book has been on my radar for years now i'd be lying if i said i wasn't disappointed.

Sad to say I was really disappointed by this book. It was totally not what I expected it to be. Maybe it was because I got an ARC instead of the published version. All I can say is that I couldn’t make heads or tails of it.

Firstly there are no chapters, paragraphs, or even any story plots in the book. Secondly there are pages with notes, lists, and train of thought on where the story is supposed to go. There was no story to read that I could make out of it.

I was actually looking forward to reading as the description of the book sounded really promising and like a good read. I’ll probably purchase the e-book when it comes out, but I’m not making any promises since this book was such a letdown.

I really liked the way this book was written. It was very unique in style and I think it added more to the story. The book was however a little longer than I thought was really necessary and the ending wasn't really enough for me. I wanted to know more about Zoey because I feel like her character was just this big question mark for the majority of the book and then it ended before we really learned anything about her. I also think this book could've done more to explore Darren's talks with the (I believe) therapist. They just didn't seem detailed enough to me to be fully satisfied with them. Also I got a little lost timewise because of the big jumps between days and then going back before the particular day the section was describing to catch everything up.However as I said i enjoyed the writing style of this book. I also liked the way the parents were portrayed and how we really got to see their relationships with Darren. I did not enjoy Nate's character. At all. I was hoping to see a turnaround in his behavior towards the end but that just didn't happen. That reminds me, I felt like the focus of this book jumped around. Sometimes it was Darren's mental state, sometimes his family relationships, sometimes his romantic relationships. They didn't piece together very well for me. Wow I feel like I'm slamming this book but I promise I really liked it. It was a fun contemporary read and I'd be interested in reading more by this author.

Darren is a horribly written character and a horrible person. Only redeeming quality was Zoey, who was only in the book for like 100 of the 650 pages. Zoey deserves so much fucking better than Darren but he seems like the type to stalk her for years and then eventually kill her if she leaves him.

I started this book two months ago, and made it about a quarter of the way in before taking a break from it. In two month, I haven't been able to make myself pick it up to read again, so I am conceding defeat and putting this in my dnf shelf.
