Not as gripping as I'd hoped, the plot is a bit slow in places - love the main characters; not the most thrilling read but I did enjoy the folklore and witchcraft tied into the story especially the corpse pants or necropants!

Fun and interesting read!

It took me a long time to finish this book. I have a personal interest in Icelandic history and their version of witchcraft, so I found inaccuracies irritating. Mostly though the plot and main characters just didn't hold my attention unfortunately. I was intending on buying the series and reading one every time I visited the country, but as the first took me this long to trudge through, I don't think I'll bother.

DNF - átti klukkutíma eftir af þessari tólf tíma hljóðbók og fannst bókin aldrei verða spennandi, nennti því ekki að klára hana.

Hopefully, this is just a poor translation. As someone with fond memories of a week in Reykjavik, I was more interested in the locations she used than the whodunnit. Also, you don't learn anything cool about Icelandic witches until Chapter 24.

I kept waiting for some excitement but, although it didnt quite bore me it was not as exciting as I was hoping it would be.
