Ashes to Ink was a wonderful, sweet and heartwarming novella. It was full of love, hope, family and friendship, as well as more of The Montgomery series regulars that we know and love. This story dealt with a number of challenging topics, which were handled with such care and delicacy without shying away from them, a true gift.

This was, as ever, a wonderful addition to the Montgomery Ink series, where we get a brief insight into the supporting characters of the series; we understand their lives and loves, which adds colour and enjoyment to reading all the books in the series. I highly recommend all of Carrie Ann Ryan’s books.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Ashes to Ink is the story of Ryan and Abby. From the beginning you see the underlying connection between these two. The author does a great job of explaining their respective pasts and why are they both hesitant to get involved with each other. Abby also has her daughter Julia to think of. The buildup of their relationship was perfectly written and the obstacles they faced as a couple were realistic. The way Abby fought for her and Ryan was spectacular and the ending was perfect and also a little open ended, possibly for a part two? Also it’s great to see the characters from Ms. Ryan’s other books! Great read!

A sweet and quick read packed with emotion and a bit of drama.

Abby lost the love of her life as their family was beginning. Her heart was breaking and mending all at the same time. The Montgomery’s help give Abby the push she needed to pick up and start living again. True living not just for her daughter. Abby opens Teas’d in Colorado Springs and her personality and passion begin to blossom. Abby is so sweet and caring. While she may appear a bit mousy at the surface, girl has got some spunk behind her. Abby is that loyal friend you know you can count on.

Ryan is one of those men whose looks don’t define their personality. Tattooed and bearded, a bit burly and built by a god. Yet Ryan is attentive, gentle and giving. The man even likes peppermint tea and is talented in more than his art. Lol. Ryan is the best of men but sadly he waits knowingly the black cloud of his life is bound to show and spoil the good in his life.

I very much enjoyed Abby and Ryan’s story. Both Ryan and Abby are trying to overcome and move on. Different sides of the same coin. Hurt and loss can be eased with time, patients and being surrounded by people who are genuine and true. Abby and Ryan find more than passion and chemistry through their attraction. They each other a piece of mind that didn’t have or understand. Their fiery passion created something worth wanting, worth taking the time for. A quick read that gives all the feels!!

From the ashes of a broken future to the inked arms of a sensitive man, this short tale takes us on an emotional ride with Abby and Ryan. But Ryan had let no one in his “family” of choice know he had so much baggage too. The Montgomerys of Colorado Spring have captured our hearts as much as the ones in Denver, adding to their loving family so many friends, and I would love to be a part of their family too. Though we can’t do that we can read their enthralling stories.

It is always great to read a Montgomery Ink story. It is like visiting old friends. This book is so well written and handles sensitive subjects with grace and compassion. Death is a topic not often dealt with in romance novels but this book deals with it with sensitivity. Throw in Michael's addiction and Abby and Ryan have lots to deal with before their relationship can begin. A beautiful touching story.

Book 2.5 in Colorado Springs Montgomery series by Carrie Ann Ryan.
Abby has been through a lot moved from Denver to Colorado with a young child. Started her own tea shop and trying to make it through each day as a widow.
Ryan is the Montgomery Ink Too newest tattoo artist and even though settled in really well he’s kept his past and himself close to his chest but when he meets Abby he know at some point he’s got to put himself out there to see if he and Abby have a future.
Loved that this book main characters aren’t Montgomery as such but both are heavily connected to the family.
I feel this book was a tad to small and things weren’t finished like what happened to Michael in end but otherwise loved it.
It’s down as a stand-alone but I feel you need to be part familiar with Montgomery series to really get the benefits with so many characters involved in this book.

This was a cute story. It took me a while to realize where we’d met Abby before, but once I did her story blew me away even more. Ryan was a great guy. This story was a sweet, somewhat emotional read. Those who like the Montgomery Ink world will enjoy this story.

This is a gentle story of 2 people coming together from friendship to something stronger. I read it while on the train which was a mistake as I couldn't help by cry. Kyle & Abby are wonderful together & am so pleased they got their HEA.
