OMIGOD. Talk about tension! Asad Khalil is quite inventive in how he comes after John and Kate. Phew. And it's terrifying how easily he takes out others.

I am surprised how long it takes the task force to figure out that Khalil may be after others from his last encounter.

Started off a bit too much like a testosterone-laden pissing contest for me, but fortunately it settled down into the usual crime story that I enjoy from Nelson de Mille

Had high hopes for this book and wasn't really happy with the outcome. It felt obligatory in some ways, like the story was forced to the ending, instead of led to the ending. I wasn't bummed with the ending, as it seemed to be par for the course, but the way the story got there was manufactured more so than others in the series.

DeMille's books are always tightly scripted with some witty dialogue. I especially like the John Corey character series. always a fun read!

Asad Khalil is back! He arrives in California to continue from where he left off the last time he was in the U.S. The last time he was in the U.S. he had promised John Corey that he would kill both his then partner and John. So, off John goes for the hunt.

It is an exciting sequel to the previous book, The Lion's Game. This was written after 9/11 and there are quite a few references to it and is interwoven in the plot.

The most action-packed John Corey novel yet! Extra sarcasm and humour included. Loved it!

I've never read a bad DeMille book. And, if you can get past the America-first, chauvinistic, male ego of John Corey, you will find a great storyline full of action and unpredictability. Tracking down and finding a sadistic sociopath bent on destruction of his enemies, will Corey prevail or will he finally meet his demise? Lots of plot twists and turns. The Lion doesn't disappoint.

SO much easier to read than its predecessor, The Lion's Game. Demille found himself a new editor, and it really showed. Some parts of the story dragged a bit, but overall, I really enjoyed the story. Another recommendation from my Dad!
