This is such a sweet romance novel with just a hint of spice (🌶). I love the way the author brought the worlds of teaching and publishing together in what is essentially a love letter to literature.
Mac is a teacher at a high school in the Chicago suburbs, and Daniel is a published author who comes to Mac's neck of the woods to do a case study on teachers for his next novel. Mac has always kept a strict boundary between her professional life and her personal life, but Daniel seems to have this pull on her she hasn't felt before. And, for the first time ever, she's considering crossing her boundary.
The Write Place is so much more than just a romance novel. It touches on grief, toxic relationships, mental health, and showcases a beautiful female friendship. Whether you're familiar with the world of education or not, you'll find something to relate to and love about this novel.

Graphic: Sexual content, Panic attacks/disorders, Death, and Grief
Moderate: Toxic relationship, Car accident, and Cursing
One thing I really appreciated about the story is that, even though it focuses on a heteronormative relationship, the author included people in the LGBTQ+ community. There is a non-binary student and a lesbian relationship as frequent side characters in the story.ephemeralreader's review
