An easy to read romance that gets straight to the heart, The Write Place is a love letter to literature, education, and female friendship.

For me, the students were the life and soul of The Write Place. Where Mac and Jenny’s friendship tugged at my heartstrings and Mac and Daniel made me giggle, Mac’s senior class and their abundant joy, questioning and hope kept me coming back to finish the book. I’d honestly read a chapter about each of them.

There were elements of The Write Place that felt rushed and/or that I would have liked to explore in more depth but, overall, it was an easy and enjoyable read.

This book is cute but just missing a wow factor. I didn’t find anything unique or special about it. The characters aren’t super likeable. They aren’t unlikeable either. I just didn’t really feel the connection with them. But it’s a cute easy read and it’s well written.

This is such a sweet romance novel with just a hint of spice (🌶).  I love the way the author brought the worlds of teaching and publishing together in what is essentially a love letter to literature.

Mac is a teacher at a high school in the Chicago suburbs, and Daniel is a published author who comes to Mac's neck of the woods to do a case study on teachers for his next novel. Mac has always kept a strict boundary between her professional life and her personal life, but Daniel seems to have this pull on her she hasn't felt before. And, for the first time ever, she's considering crossing her boundary.

The Write Place is so much more than just a romance novel. It touches on grief, toxic relationships, mental health, and showcases a beautiful female friendship. Whether you're familiar with the world of education or not, you'll find something to relate to and love about this novel.
