Two adults acting like annoying kids for most of the book until they give in and bang the hatred away. Also very repetitive every other page I was reminded that she doesn't like hockey players and he thinks she's a spoiled bratty princess with a rat dog. I think this book tried too hard to be enemies to lovers. And why did he have to say a gay slur so much when talking about his wrist injury?? 2 stars for the dog and cute cover

This was a cute, open door rom-com Christmastime read. The MCs were setup by the FMC's brother, where they are forced to spend a few days together in a snowed in cabin. If you like the forced proximity/only one bed trope, then you'll probably enjoy this. It's definitely a light, quick read, and the pace moves right along. Bonus points, it was on KU.

This was another cute, festive read that really got me so excited for Christmas!

I actually really enjoyed Iris as a character. She knew what she wanted and she wasn’t afraid to say how she felt. She had a good amount of depth to her and was shy, even though extroverted, because she was always in the shadow of her famous brother. Kyler made her realise that what she does is important too and I loved this message because it reinforces not to compare our achievements to others, as we are all different people of different journeys. I was a bit iffy on Kyler. I just felt he was really rude for no reason and I couldn’t get over that he made her sleep on the floor over the couch lol! I didn’t find him very attractive, and whilst he had a depth and traumatic background, it didn’t really hit for me and he didn’t reflect on it enough for it to seem realistic. I just didn’t really like him as a character and also he didn’t like her dog! Like you have to be a psychopath to not like dogs! I loved Rob the little frenchy and felt he stole the show which I loved. I love seeing the connection between dogs and owners in writing.

I enjoyed the writing overall. There were some really beautiful lines and the descriptions were nice and made you feel like you were really there. The plot was good, but I didn’t think it was necessary to have the third-act break up. It’s a novella and it just would’ve been nicer to see them together, rather than a silly little hissy-fit that Kyler threw. They could’ve just talked and instead of Kyler leaving, he could have faced it head on. That plot point didn’t stick with me and I really didn’t like it.

Overall, I felt there could have been some improvements to the characters and storyline, but it was still a sweet and low-commitment romance novella.

Christmas Cupid is a fun forced proximity Christmas romance. If you enjoy romances where the characters are snowed in together (and they don’t want to be) then this is a good one to read. Not only is it forced proximity but it’s a brother’s best friend romance too. Our hero is on the same NFL team as our heroine’s brother, but he’s basically benched because of a hand injury. Suffice it to say he isn’t happy that he’s now forced to take up residence with Iris and her dog- he just wants peace and quiet to figure out what to do next. Iris on the other hand is recuperating from a breakup, so being stuck with a man she finds obnoxious doesn’t bode well with her. But he is nice to look at under that gruff and grumpy exterior. Perhaps these two opposites will find common ground and love this Christmas? You’ll need to read it to find out! Overall, I enjoyed this one and flew through the pages. It’s cute, has some spicy scenes, and some great characters.

They get snowed in together, I wonder what might happen

The banter between Kyler and Iris was perfect. I loved Rob/Puck and how Iris treated him was how any crazy dog mom would act. I loved their first interaction at the cabin and their time there. The attraction they had for each other was steamy. I need more from Kyler and Iris as I know there is so much more to see from them. I love how mischievous Iris’ brother and Kyler’s teammate, Will is and how much he cares for his family and friends. I think Will needs his own book.

at least the dog is cute?

When you read romance novels you have to expect some tropes and clichés, but this was really sweet and cute. A good ol' fashion, quick Christmas read. :)

a cutie little christmas read for the holidays!
