Not entirely sure how to sum up this book. It was an interesting read, and i think the writing was very well done, but the ending left a lot of loose ends that i think could have been explored more.

The final chapter was especially disturbing to me, and there were many scenes that made me feel very icky, so this certainly isn’t a book for the faint hearted and definitely check trigger warnings before picking this up because it gets very heavy very quickly.

Currently too dark for me, not interested being in the head of a pedophile. Probably will pick back up in the future, but is not an enjoying read for me at the moment.

Do you like alteration? A.M. Holmes sure does! Yet another book that's "truly disturbing" and "gave me nightmares".

It was fine. Nothing more, nothing less. If you're not a frequent reader of splatter punk or extreme horror there are a few passages that may turn your stomach. But ultimately there's nothing out of the ordinary.

I feel like a lot of extreme horror deals with pedophilia, incest, etc. and The End of Alice is no different.

It feels like ultimately this was a disturbing short story or blog post that got fleshed out into a novel, but upon completion a lot of the story feels unnecessary.

It's probably worth a read, especially considering it's less than 300 pages and can be finished in a day or two, but you really wouldn't be missing out if you skipped it.

This is a weird one. The subject matter is challenging and at times disgusting, but the writing is effective and well-done. Definitely not for the faint of heart and many content warnings apply. I enjoy reading books that give me insight into a point of view that is so disparate from my own, or I may have just not finished it due to the content.

Holy god damn shit… holy fucking hell

What a hard story to consume, so depraved and so realistic. The amount of times I’ve gasped, and stared at the wall mid read is countless.

The writing is sooo unique. The breaking of the fourth wall and the quick changes between past and present is done so well that it wasn’t lost on me at all. And that in itself is such a feat. I enjoyed that.

Can’t say I enjoyed the secondary characters storyline so much although she was there to serve some purpose.

The ending scene, the final ending scene had me so gagged and shocked I’m gonna be thinking about that for like… forever.

I couldn't stomach the content, it made my skin crawl. This is a deeply disturbing story.
