One of my all-time favorites. Paulson paints a world most of us will never see and it is exquisite in its beauty and harshness. It’s laugh-out-loud funny, and a page-turner, too. Highly recommend.

I really like this book. it isn't something that I normally would read. i have liked Paulsen's other works for YA so I thought I would give this a try. it really took me on all his adventures through the race, the people and the dogs.

4.5 stars. Gary Paulsen is a great story teller. Some parts were laugh-out-loud funny but the last sentence had me sobbing.

This book was fun and funny, and also at times intense and sad. Loved the connection the author had to the dogs and the way he captured his own naivety in running his first Iditarod. Super easy to read.
