What an interesting premise! The book opens with Susie Salmon telling you that she’s been murdered and is now watching Earth from heaven.

What I found most enjoyable about the book was that as the reader, you got to see Susie’s reaction to what was happening on Earth. A lot of times, books will center the family left behind after the murder, walking the reader through their feelings and actions in the aftermath. The author did a wonderful job not only doing that, but also sharing Susie’s feelings and reactions to that. Throughout the book, you see the whole family evolve - including Susie! - both individually and in their relationships with each other.

Four stars only because the ending ruined it for me.
