I’m really enjoying this series. War felt a bit slow in places but the last half I couldn’t put down and I found this horseman more complex than Pestilence so I’m intrigued to know how Famine will be.

The second in the Four Horsemen series and I'm glad I stuck around. Although its in no way perfect, this book is much better then the first.

The character are more  compelling and seem to actually live in the world the. Just parade around on their horse doing the same thing over and over.

Miriam is a more believable FMC. She makes weponds and has lived through war. So, it would make sense if she at least had some fighting abilities. I also love that she is more of a woman of action than Sara is in Pestilence.

War is in all ways better than his brother. He seems to really care about Miriam and grows more throught their relationship. He also seems to understand that she's not just going to bend to his whim and likes it.

The plot seemed to fit better and doesn't just feel like a shitty slice of life. Well kinda. Just like in the frist one the same plot points to happen a bunch. War does what he is made to do, Miriam doesn't like it, she tries to interfere and/or get him to stop.

The biggest down side to me was the way the characters seem to regress at the end of the book, and do stupid things that seem to go against their character. These moments,  especially what  Miriam does, seems to just be there because..... ah we need the end to be emotional and heavy.

But hey at least she doesn't keep up with a immortal galloping horse....
That alone makes this book deserve a star more than the first.

3.5 decisamente storia più coinvolgente del primo e guerra effettivamente fa quello che deve ovviamente è un romance e la dose amore c’è bella piena ma è tutto molto più interessante del primo libro

Mmm. Definitely not a fan of War and if I had to read “wife” one more time I was going to lose it. There were slow points, the tension never really built for me, and in all honesty he does a lot of horrible things that makes the MC mad, but then the next chapter she’s immediately making excuses for it - her morals are very confusing. The last book was not like this and I actually enjoyed that MC. I hope the next one is better!
