I really wanted to love this book but I found it hard to get into and it seemed overly detailed in some places which dragged the story out. I also found it difficult to warm to any of the characters until much further into the book. I did however find the book interesting and there were some unexpected twists along the way.
dark emotional reflective slow-paced

A bit predictable, quite anticlimactic. Followed a pretty standard courtroom drama format
complete with losing the case
. With the good stuff out of the way the ending drags on and on through Sophie, who, until the last third, was the most interesting character.

Fantastically written - the ending was brilliant! I did guess where the story was heading quite early on - but well worth the read. I'm glad I stuck with it - and the justice at the end - RIVETING!

A good one, interesting plot, well developed characters and twists. Not as political as I expected, but definitely contains dark themes.

Hard to put down and easy to follow. Would recommend!

Enjoyed this book as much as the Netflix series. Sarah Vaughan did a wonderful job in fleshing out the characters, and describing the various tensions inherent in this complex story. Worth a read!
