caprivoyant's review
Learned a lot about the Indian political system with this read.
It's not what I was expecting. I thought this was going to be a collection of letters from political prisoners to their families and, though those letters, we'd get a peek into their thoughts, feelings, and get to know each person a little deeper. We do get a bit of that in one chapter! It's primarily historical context, though, which is just not what I was emotionally prepped for, so this might be a good book / bad timing kind of situation which is entirely on me.
I do think this would be a more powerful read in either physical or ebook form than audio if that's accessible to you simply because two of the chapters were in almost-list-form and it was easy to miss information on audio-only.

Moderate: Racism, Police brutality, Ableism, and Classism
Minor: Medical content and Chronic illness
A large part of this book focuses on exposing corrupt and inhumane practices in the Indian political/judicial system, so I may have missed some content warnings cuz there's a lot all tied up in that... Just know going in that you're going to read a lot about unjust practices. I could see that being extremely triggering for some.
