What a psycho book? There were so many twists and turns in the story. I did not appreciate all the cursing in the book - definitely an adult book to read. The ending left me disturbed - I guess this is a reflection on our society today in how relationships can become so distorted and hateful - but the partners stay together hoping for better and/or changes.

This is the book that stays with you after reading. It really does. The characters and their lives are almost real the way Flynn tells it and it still haunts me to this day. The ending could've been a little more mysterious but it was an amazing novel overall. Loved it.

This book was so well-crafted, exciting, and suspenseful. I had picked this up at the library before and thought 'oh just another murder mystery.' I'd been over-exposed to them as a kid by my mother so they always seemed redundant and dull.

But then, this book kept popping up on my radar and then finally it was recommended by a Heather at Chapters (whose opinion I value quite a bit) and I thought 'screw it. Lets make this happen' and boy, am I glad I did.

The twists, the turns, the character development is all stunning. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for an exciting read. While not on par with The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, it still reminds me of it in terms of writing quality. But lets be serious, who really compares with Steig Larsson.

I won’t lie Gone Girl was an average book at best, not Gillian Flynn’s best but certainly not her worst novel. I liked the premise of Perfect Amy and Nick being targeted by the media. Very similar to real life cases like this. But I don’t know I guess I was bored? Yeah that’s the word bored.

It was so slow, annoyingly so. Sure I don’t mind slow books a lot of the time when they’re actually interesting. But this book just didn’t do it for me. Amy’s character was just annoying as hell and bland. Nick was better but not by much a lying dick of a man who cheated on his wife for a year thinking she didn’t know.

I gave it three stars genuinely because I enjoyed the premise, I just wish it had been easier to get into and not so topsy turvy with the diary.

It was a really good book. Well thought I out, and brilliantly executed. Lengthy in some places but overall a good read.

A man returns home on his fifth wedding anniversary to find his wife missing. The game is on.

[Note to self: Consider lowering rating to a 2]

Lasting impressions: Creepy as f**k. Flynn is all about the cliffhangers, so I just about flew through reading, but I was glad to finally finish the thing. Part 3 in particular was pretty horrifying. I mean, I didn't like Nick but
Spoilereven that dick didn't deserve to be stuck with a "crazy psycho bitch." (I guess the point is that they both have major issues so it works for them? I don't know.)
. Are there people like that in real life? G-d, I hope not. Next time I'll stick to my usual genres.

Don't get me wrong this book is a must read for all people, no exceptions! I couldn't predict anything, or foresee what was coming next, it was such a page turner that kept on bringing a twist after twist. My only issue, this is on me not the book, is that I couldn't read it fast enough. For some reason I only read bits and pieces every other day. But otherwise, this book is truly amazing.
