A truly perfect end to the series. I realized partway through that I was just lost in the story--a somewhat unusual feeling these days.
The threat felt compelling and each of the characters had their time to shine. Emily came into herself and the author struck a nice balance by keeping her recognizable within her growth. She picked up the best elements from the previous books and carried them forward. The romance was a delight, affecting but not saccharine.
Grounded whimsy. A tale of a woman and her books and her dog. Who says you can't have your fae prince and your research wellies?
Complete trust in the author allowed total relaxation into a pleasant story.

I absolutely adore this trilogy. It has been a satisfying read throughout. The third book has the same charms that made me fall in love with the first.
Returning characters from both previous books, and new characters entering the fray, the conscious writing of Emily is as charming as ever.
If you made it this far into the serious and enjoyed the previous two books, this one is a must read.
Overall, I believe the first book strongest (though, the slowest to pick up in plot out of the three). The second and third book are on par with one another in my opinion, each with stronger and climatic points.
Despite the stakes being the highest in the third book, I found the threat to be the least out of all the books. I believe it is due to the expected resolution being found within Emily's scholarly perspective.-- I digress.
