Did I go into this Rebecca Yarros book expecting to cry? Yes. Basically all of her books make me cry.
Did I expect to be crying in the first chapter? No! She really knows how to break my heart but she’s also the best at putting it back together. This is a beautiful love story that you can’t help but root for.

I adore Ember and Josh. While they are young and they still have a lot of growing up to do, you could feel their love for each and that they are perfect together. I love a good insta love/old high school crush and knowing that they both were crushing on each other in hs was fun to read.

Ember goes through so much in this book and there is no one perfect to help her through it than Josh. He was supportive, caring, loving, and did anything he could to be there for her. Ember is so strong having to deal with what she did and I admire her for it. I did not see the twist coming (as I never see anything coming!) and while it broke my heart for Ember, it makes it better knowing everything works out for the best ♥️

Rebecca Yarros is the best of the best when it comes to pulling at your heart strings and making you feel deeply with her books. Full Measures is the first book of the Flight & Glory series and it starts off with tears (in a good way). Ember Howard as been an army brat for 20 years. She wakes up on her birthday and starts with a run like she starts most days while she’s been visiting back home. The morning starts like any other until there is a knock on the door. Curious why her mom isn’t answering, she decides to go answer the door for her. Her mom keeps repeating to not open the door as Ember sees two figures standing outside. The moment she opened the door changes her life forever…and her family. Two officers have arrived to tell them that her dad has been killed in Afghanistan. The weeks that follow are some of the worst that Ember and her family has ever been through…but the one person who seems to always be in the right place at the right time to help Ember is Josh Walker. Josh is the former hockey star from high school that Ember always had a crush on. He’s stupidly hot and has always been a ladies man. He seems to have changed now that he’s in college finishing his senior year and helping to coach Ember’s little brother’s hockey team. As Ember continues to stay to navigate a world where her dad is no longer there, her and Josh work to figure out their feelings and what that means for them both. Rebecca Yarros made me cry within the first few pages. She writes amazing romance books but her military romance books hit differently because they are so accurate and real. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and couldn’t put it down.
