I expected the book to be about young women who make their way to the political challenge. Except it was about 4 high school friends and not about becomin  the president at all... If I was younger (around 16) I think I would have liked it.
Some characters I liked more than others. But it was easy to read.

This was an enjoyable read and one I would have loved when I was younger but I did find the writing style (it read like she'd taken a TV show and transformed it into a novel - very tell not show) and the lack of distinction between the character's voices did take me out of the story a bit. It was great to see the range of diversity in the book, and I would have loved a deeper dive into the worldbuilding as we only really saw the 4 main characters and a few side characters - I had no sense about anyone else from their school at all. The twist was fun, though, and cleverly done!

4.5 stars!

I LOVED this book. I actually cried a little bit it was so heartwarming. I never would have guessed who was going to be president at the end. I flew through this and couldn’t put it down!

I’m just gonna put it all under spoilers so:
———————————————————————————

I only have a few pages left to go but I’m so fucking mad over this book are you KIDDING me? Martha goes into the MILITARY???????? CJ and Jordan just trip over men the entire goddamn book? And Ava is just like pushed to the side the whole time really. I’m so mad. They do not seem like real friends and I’m really over the whole “friend fucks over other friends because *gasp* she’s with a BOY!” Are you serious? I’m so fucking disappointed Jesus Christ

3 1/2 stars. This is an empowering, nice story about 4 women, where one will become president. My favorite in this book is their unfailing friendship, no matter what no matter when. It is real in a way they never let each other down.
